James M. McCary, Vice President, Operations
Mr. James M. McCary, Vice President-Operations, High Hotels, Ltd., has been
with the company since February 1989. His responsibilities
are to provide support service to the hotels in the areas
of pre-opening, operations, purchasing and marketing. Reporting
to Mr. McCary are the Annapolis, Maryland Hampton Inn &
Suites, the Middletown, New York Hampton Inn, and the Hilton
Garden Inn, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
Mr. McCary joined High Hotels, Ltd. with previous experience
spanning 12 years in operations with Crown American Hotels
in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. He managed five of their full-service
Holiday Inns and limited-service Compri Hotels by Doubletree.
Upon joining High Hotels, Mr. McCary was the opening General
Manager of High’s first hotel, the Lancaster, Pennsylvania
Hampton Inn which became the #1 Hampton Inn in the Hampton
Inn chain that year, then he subsequently assisted in the
opening of the Harrisburg-West, Pennsylvania and York, Pennsylvania
Hampton Inns.
He also assisted in the acquisition and management of the Reading, Pennsylvania Hampton Inn and then moved on to open and manage the Homewood Suites Hotel in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania which became the #1 Homewood Suites Hotel in Customer Service that year. He then was promoted to Director, Sales & Marketing and Operations Analyst, High Hotels, Ltd. at the corporate level before assuming his current position.
Mr. McCary attended Duquesne University and Allegheny Community College in
Pittsburgh, PA majoring in Hotel Management and also completed
the General Manager’s Course conducted by Holiday Inns,
Inc. and the General Manager’s Course conducted by Hampton
Inns, Inc., Homewood Suites Hotels, and Hilton Garden Inn
hotels.
